Who we are
Appia Gastro GmbH, Moserstrasse 33, 3014 Bern, Switzerland ("we") is responsible for processing data on thedesk.life. For privacy questions, contact us at ciao@noybern.ch.
We process personal data under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where applicable, we also observe the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What we process and why
Visiting the website
When you visit the website, our hosting provider stores technically necessary data such as IP address, date and time, page visited and browser information in server log files. This keeps the site secure and stable. Logs are deleted after a short time. The website is delivered by Vercel Inc. (USA) through a worldwide network of servers; the contact form and newsletter sign-up run on Vercel servers in Frankfurt (Germany).
No tracking cookies
We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. Fonts are served from our own server and there is no embedded Google Map. That's why we don't need a cookie banner.
Storage in your browser
When you click "I'm in" for an event, your browser remembers this locally (local storage) so the button shows "You're in" on your next visit. This stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
Statistics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see anonymously which pages are visited and how often. It sets no cookies and builds no visitor profiles; visits are counted using a daily changing, non-traceable hash.
Contact form and email
When you write to us via the form or by email, we process your name, email address, optionally your company and your message to answer your request. The message is delivered by email to our mailbox (Google Workspace). We delete the data once it is no longer needed and no legal retention obligations apply.
Newsletter
For the newsletter we need your email address. You can sign up in the footer or with the checkbox in the contact form. It comes out about every two months and is sent via Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France). We store your address, language and sign-up date. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every issue. Brevo may analyse anonymously whether a newsletter was opened.
Booking
Bookings are handled by anny (anny GmbH, Germany). The booking page is embedded on our website; anny's privacy policy applies, and anny may set technically necessary cookies. For access we use digital keys from Tapkey (Tapkey GmbH, Austria), which process the data you provide when booking.
Sharing and transfers abroad
We only share data with the providers named above where needed for the respective purpose: Vercel Inc. (hosting, USA), Google (email), Brevo (newsletter, EU), anny (booking, EU) and Tapkey (access, EU). For recipients in countries without adequate data protection we rely on standard contractual clauses or certification under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
You can request access to the data we hold about you, and its correction, deletion or release. You can object to processing and withdraw consent at any time. Write to us at ciao@noybern.ch. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Changes
We update this policy when our website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
